Anmärkning: Innehållsbeskrivning, sammanfattning The aim of the present study was to analyze perceptions of user involvement and the extent to which service users in the Swedish substance abuse treatment system (municipal social services and regional-level health care) can influence the choice of intervention and the course of treatment in their own case. Analyses included both the perspectives of the service users and their professional service providers. The relationships between user involvement, satisfaction, and treatment retention and outcomes were explored as well as potential differences in perceptions and experiences between various service user groups and service providers.
