  • In this thesis, health effects of smoking exposure (e.g. active smoking, former smoking or environmental tobacco smoke) among children, adolescents and adults were investigated from a liife-course perspective. The health outcomes used include allergic disease, progression of atherosclerosis, and self-rated health. Furthermore, the thesis present a theoretical approach, investigating three socioeconomic life-course models, i.e., the critical period, accumulation of risk and social mobility model, in relation to adult self-rated health.
