Anmärkning: Innehållsbeskrivning, sammanfattning In the brain norepinephrine (NE) is thought to be of importance for euphoria, mood, attention and memory. The aim of the present study had its origin in the need for better methods to assess the NE neuronal activity in man. Techniques were developed for assessment of the fate and turnover of the NE and epinephrine metabolites 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylglycol (HMPG,MHPG) and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxymandelic acid (HMMA,VMA) in man using deuterium labelling and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
