  • This thesis consists of four papers, all of which focus on the effects of changes in the availability of alcoholic beverages on alcohol sales. In the first two papers, the effects of privatization of publicly owned monopolies on the alcohol in two Canadian provinces are analyzed. In the third paper, the effects of changes in the price of alcohol, disposable income and the number of outlets in four Canadian provinces during the second part of the 20th century are analyzed. Finally, in the last paper, the object of analysis is the concept of full price, i.e. a combination of the price of alcohol and the physical availability, in the states of the U.S. (From the introduction)
